Class One: An Introduction to Digital Rhetoric
Introductions
Review the syllabus
By the end of the class you will make a video essay like this one.
How is this possible? What if you don't have a lot of high-tech equipment?
You can borrow a camera from the HIRC or use their lab with webcams and microphones. (Facebook friend Judi Franz can help you!)
People at the Multimedia Resources Center in Langson Library can also help you. They have desktops that run video editing programs, web design programs, and even Second Life, which we'll be visiting in the final weeks of class. You can also borrow laptops from them for group work. Don't feel uncomfortable about asking for help. They know you are coming.
People in the Interactive Learning Center in the Science Library also know about this class. They've even added special video editing tools like After Effects to help ambitious students.
There's a campus video editing tutorial to help you.
What's rhetorical about these two websites?
