And yes I love music. Putting it on this site is a little weird for me, because I believe the more you talk about music, the more you obscure its impact with cloudy words, messy theory and the like. But it needed to be introduced, so I guess I’ll leave it at that.

Regarding the class we are all enrolled in, it is interesting to say the least. The concept of rhetoric and communication can be applied to all fields, both professionally and personally in my experience. I am enrolled as an undergraduate business major, and plan to go into some form of international business (in which my rhetorical skills must remain sharp). Having lived overseas for 15 years in the Middle East, I know from personal experience how important ones choice of words and delivery can be. Different countries, cultures and individuals can all react differently to the same concept, and ones presentation of that concept is of utmost importance. For an American living in the Middle East, I quickly learned the value of rhetoric, as it could mean the difference between introducing an enlightening concept, and a firm beating by a zealous individual.

In conclusion I look forward to this class. I already find the teacher engaging and interesting, and the material necessary and fresh (as it involves media) at the same time. I hope that I will acquire skills that will help me in my business/academic career, my personal life, and yes, even my music.
